Troubadour Coffee Roasters

TOP QUALITY COFFEE ROASTERS

We are passionate about our coffee, source most of it direct from the growers and are proud to pay them above a typical “Fair Trade” price. 100% of that money goes directly to the grower, guaranteed. We roast each coffee on-site, and we make each beverage to order. We do not offer flavors, syrups, smoothies, frappes, meal-type foods or most typical coffee shop drinks, but for good reason.

We are very focused on the quality aspect of our coffees and want you to experience coffee for the passion, craft and art of it. Coffee is the seed of a fruit and if its grown, processed, roasted and brewed properly, the results will be amazing and not taste bitter or burnt. If your black coffee tastes bitter or burnt, you're drinking the wrong quality coffee!

For those that brew at home or the office, we sell our offerings in our shop and here at our website. You can read about each coffee, get the statistics such at altitude, varietal and processing method to help you decide on what to get. All of our coffees are shipped within 48 hrs of purchase online and shipped whole bean. If we happen to be out of a selection you ordered we will email you and ask to substitute or give you an approximate timeframe your slection might be available again.

Hope you will enjoy visiting us and your coffee!

Since 2011 we have been training students to work as baristas and helping people to open their own coffee shops. We can help you!

Whether you are just getting into the industry or need to become more hands-on in your shop, our training is for you. It teaches barista skills paired with personal instruction to give you the tools you need to feel confident about working as a barista in your own coffee business or as a professional barista. If you are looking to get more proficient making great espresso at home, check out our Home Enthusiast Barista Skills class here!

We do not offer drink building with flavors, blender beverages, food or sandwich prep as part of our program. We feel that extra time in our milk and espresso lab is more efficient use of your limited & valuable time with us, so we make the best use of it. We utilize lab time for these techniques so you can leave our program feeling confident about honing your new skills.

We are not certified by any course or entity. The truth about barista certifications is that you do not usually need them to work as a barista and you definitely do not need them to own your own coffee shop. In essence, there aren’t any set of metrics or tests one must pass in order to work as a barista. Don’t get me wrong, a certificate is great to have to hang on your wall or show your prospective employer however it is not typically necessary. Having some sort of foundation such as basic barista skills (which we teach) as well as a passion for coffee and the art of its preparation is a great place to start.
